Frequently asked Questions
We operate out of Bluntisham, near St Ives, Cambridgeshire.
We cover all the surounding villages and towns within a radius of approximately 15 miles. This generally means addresses within post codes CB24, PE27, PE28 and PE29.
However, if you need assistance but are outside of this area, please still contact us, we may still be able to help you.
Well the answer to that is easy… we think a very good one!!
For a list of common tasks we can undertake please see our services page.
In reality, the list of what we can’t do is very long indeed, and includes splitting the atom, flying without mechanical assistance and defining the offside rule (we dont do football)!
However in a more limited context, we offer general handyman services. We are not a general builder; we cannot rewire your whole house or re plumb it.
We are not permitted carry out works that require specific certification in order to perform that work such as a gas engineer.
If you dont see the specific task you require listed in our services, it doesn’t necessarily mean we dont do it! Just ask us.
Every job is charged on the basis of the complexity of the work required as well as the duration and materials involved.
EPS takes great pride in the fact that we are able offer a quality service to our clients at affordable prices. This includes rate concessions as standard to our senior citizens.
We love to develop long term relationships with our clients, many to the point where we now also consider each other as friends. A preferential rate is available to those clients who place additional orders with us. Senior citizens who also request further work from us can even benefit from both… thats a DOUBLE DISCOUNT!!
In addition, we offer a referral discount scheme where both the referring client and referred client can receive discounted rates on their next order.
If you have a project in mind, ask us about any seasonal discounts that may be available.
We respectfully request that you settle your account immediately upon completion. Bank transfer, PayPal or cash are our preferred options.
Cheques accepted strictly by prior arrangement only, however processing fees will also be included.
Sorry but we are unable to take card payments currently.
That is a hard one to answer.
In addition to general random high and low demands that can occur, it also depends on the season, and what you require doing.
We try to organise our work with sufficient allowances so as to not need to delay the next job should something over-run on the current job. Mostly this works, sometimes it doesnt, and sometimes we have gaps where we can squeeze smaller jobs in quite quickly.
It may also be an option to attend to larger jobs more quickly if these can be split over a number of shorter visits. It should be noted that in the cases of split visits, these may not be able to be undertaken on consecutive days.
A fair average to work on would be a 2-4 week lead time after confirming your acceptance of our quotation, but it is always best to check for your particular case.
Where the work is for security or safety purposes we will always try to respond more quickly.
As many of our clients are classed within the vulnerable category, we take the spread of viruses very seriously. We would hope that all clients would advise us prior to a visit if they are aware of having a contageous illness so that we may reschedule accordingly.
Where we are made aware that vulnerable clients require precautionary preventitive measures, we are happy to undertake the appropriate safeguarding. We will sanitise hands before entering your property, and will wear a mask whenever in discussion with you, and as necessary when working inside unless the property is unoccupied. We will not wear a mask whilst carrying out your work externally so long as we are able to distance ourselves sufficiently for everyones safety to be maintained.
Where necessary, we would seek to maintain a safe distance at all times and where possible would ask that rooms are not occupied during our attendance.
We are happy to discuss any special requirements or concerns you may have regarding safeguarding.
If you have any other questions please contact us.
